Who and what is Quiet Water Kayakers?
*IMPORTANT INFO FOR THE 2022 SEASON: We ask all paddlers respect the standards of social distancing and CDC guidelines during this time of COVID-19. If you are not feeling well, or may have been exposed to anyone who has the virus within the last 7 days, do not join us for the paddle.
We are an informal, all skill levels, group of paddlers (kayakers and canoeists) that paddle in the Barrington, Portsmouth and the seacoast area of NH. Our trips are on “quiet water” ponds, lakes, rivers, estuaries. See the schedule for more information about each trip.
We would like to do some weekend trips and off week trips on protected bays, the ocean and tidal rivers. They will be added to the schedule as the season progresses.
• Trips are held on Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm and will be weather permitting. We will post weather related updates for the trip on Facebook or this site by 5:00. However, if weather is questionable, we will make a decision at the launch site.
• There is no charge. Although some parks may have a fee for parking and/or putting in.
• Don’t forget: life vest (pfd), paddles, kayak, bilge pump, water/snack, insect repellant.
We hope you will join us and enjoy the trips we have planned. Again, if there is a river, pond, lake, coastal area or other body of water you would recommend please let us know – we are always looking for new spots to check out.
To be added to the email list, for more information or to recommend a trip, contact us at QuietWaterKayakers at Comcast dot Net. Please include your name and email address. We use your email address only to send you information for the next trip and for others we plan on a weekend – usually sent to you about one week in advance.
We look forward to seeing you on the water!
Nancy & Dave
